History:
Spice is nearly 21. She lives in a run-down apartment with 5 other people; the complex is run by a kindly old Hermetic Master who is on the lookout for Awakenings among the poor. Her 'mates are Dream, Joyeux, Mama Sara, and Mama Sara's 2 children. She, Dream, and Joyeux do streetcorner busking and a bar act to make money, with Spice dancing, Dream drumming and Joyeux playing the flute. Sometimes Spice mixes up her act with some flag tricks. Their bar act also involves something with juggling flaming sticks, hence her name "Firedancer".
Spice does not know what happened to her parents. All she knows is that she was abandoned at the age of 6, and juggled through foster familes for years. Her last family was fairly affluent and totally screwed up. When the father threatened to send her to a private miltary school to "straighten her out" she rebelled and fled with as much as she could carry. Joyeux and Mama Sara found her on the streets two days later and took her in. She never returned to school and developed her natural talent for dance instead.
Spice's Mage gifts Awakened one night during a bar performance when she misjudged and her clothing caught fire. Miraculously she was not burnt and managed to complete the performance, awing the crowd. Since that time she has endured a series of vague dreams and that ability has not faded, enabling her to, ah, spice up her act a bit more. The kindly Hermetic attmpted to take her under his wing, but after she tried to seduce him and refused to study any of the esoteric books he gave her (she lost one, only to have it turn up under her bed a month later), he contacted a nearby Ecstatic and turned her over to them, feeling that her particular predilections would better serve that Tradition.
As soon as Spice began to put any form to her magic the odd immunity to fire faded away into her Resonance, flavouring her successful spells with the fire of her name. She possesses a ring, brought with her from her last home, which she performed the Consecrate Rote on, enabling her to ??? with it. She is currently attempting to concoct a Rote to regain an immunity to fire.
Although both Dream and Joyeux know of her Mage status, she fears it is only a matter of time before they gang up against her, despite her occasionally skilful use of coincidental magic on their behalf. However, they are all streetchildren and have spent the last 7 years together, so that too may have some effect on them. For now the trio is content to remain together and enjoy the wild parties of the Esoterics. Strangely, the local Cult of Ecstasy seems to contemplating taking Dream and Joyeux as acolytes, a fact which Spice does not know yet.
