Derek inclined his neck to the soft lips on \u00a0his neck. He craned his head to see who it was, and smirked at who he saw. \u201cSummer,\u201d Derek said, \u201chow long have you been there for?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

“Just thinking,” Derek frowned, “You know, just about things.” He stared down at his hands, clearly attempting to go back into his thoughts.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

“You wanna talk about it?” It\u2019s a stupid question; Derek \/never\/ wants to talk about it, but it\u2019s also a reflex to ask. She peered at him, upside-down.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

“Can we move onto another topic please?” Derek dropped his head into his hands, “It\u2019s just- I\u2019ve been thinking about what family I have left. I have no-one, family that is, that can help me.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

“Oh,” she said quietly. Scrambling fully over the back of the sofa, she put her arms around his shoulders and kissed his hair. “I know it\u2019s not much, but I\u2019m here.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

“Thanks Summer,” Derek smiled and laid his head on her lap, “You know, you should probably come around more often.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
