The bartender raised an eyebrow at the girl as she set a box on the counter of his bar. \u201cYou\u2019re that Summer girl, right?\u201d he asked absently, and then nodded as he stepped away to find his employer. Several minutes later, he returned, \u201cVex\u2019ll be out momentarily.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

And several moments later, the Mesmer appeared, walking over to where Summer stood at the bar. He was dressed in his finest. \u201c\u2018Ello, Precious,\u201d he greeted, \u201cYa called?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Vex shook his head, biting back his annoyance, \u201cNothing, love. I\u2019m just bloody sick of people thinking you\u2019re just \u2018ere to feed off of.\u201d Curling closer to her, he sighed, \u201cBloody Fae.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

“What difference does it make? Unless it means they think they get a share of me too I\u2019m not sure why it matters. I know how you feel. She turned his face to look into his dark eyes. “Maybe better than you do, sometimes. Vex, I love you. That\u2019s what matters.” After a quick kiss, she smiled at him. “I\u2019m not even sure I\u2019d know if you fed on me.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Mesmer shrugged his shoulders, \u201cIt doesn\u2019t matter, really, it just gets on my nerves sometimes, Precious.\u201d \u00a0He smiled and kissed her back, hugging her close to his chest, \u201cI love you too, Summer.\u201d He paused, lips moving to ghost over her neck affectionately, \u201cAnd you\u2019d know, even if you didn\u2019t realize it as that.\u201d The control. She enjoyed it during their \u2018play time\u2019, but it was feeding nonetheless, despite her probably not considering it that.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

“Well, then,” she said, giving in to the glorious shudder that crawled up her spine, “unless you want to go knock them all silly for being so stupid, I hardly see why it matters.
