The bartender raised an eyebrow at the girl as she set a box on the counter of his bar. \u201cYou\u2019re that Summer girl, right?\u201d he asked absently, and then nodded as he stepped away to find his employer. Several minutes later, he returned, \u201cVex\u2019ll be out momentarily.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

And several moments later, the Mesmer appeared, walking over to where Summer stood at the bar. He was dressed in his finest. \u201c\u2018Ello, Precious,\u201d he greeted, \u201cYa called?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Her acknowledging \u2018hmm\u2019 broke into a laugh. \u201cYour people don\u2019t really celebrate this holiday?\u201d That thought had been why she had come to Carpe Noctem. To find that he had planned to come to her was a lovely thing. Rather than letting him answer, she kissed him again with that thought.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Vex scrunched up his nose as she laughed at him, but was easily distracted by her kiss. Returning it for a moment, he smiled against her mouth before pulling back to reply, \u201cNot particularly. Too many love-Fae that try to muck it up and get in the way.\u201d \u00a0He kissed her again with a shrug, but it was short-lived because the door to the room opened.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Having fun with your pet<\/em><\/strong>, Vex?\u201d<\/p>\n

Breaking the kiss to growl, the Mesmer\u2019s eyes turned to look at the Fae that had interrupted. \u00a0\u201dShe isn\u2019t your concern. Now get out before I bloody\u2014\u201d<\/p>\n

“Oh I\u2019m sorry, did I interrupt your\u00a0meal<\/em>?\u201d<\/p>\n

“I-I don\u2019t\u2014just get out of \u2018ere, you braggart!” He took control of the other male just long enough to make him step back and slam the door shut behind him, and then let out an irritated sigh.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
