“Isaac! Isaac, put him down!” Summer screamed. She didn\u2019t dare move, because the cat would immediately bolt out the door. As it was, it had its ears flat to its head.<\/p>\n

Jesse had his hand wrapped around Isaac\u2019s wrist. His face was warped into a sneer, and he hissed, \u201cWhat\u2019d she promise you? What\u2019d she do to you? You\u2019re a slave and you can\u2019t even see it.\u201d Twisting fruitlessly, he glared at Summer. \u201cWitch!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Isaac looked back at Summer and reluctantly set him down. \u201cI\u2019m not a slave.\u201d Alright, technically he was actually Summer\u2019s slave for the next twenty-four hours, but that wasn\u2019t the point. \u201cI wasn\u2019t promised anything to kick your ass out. You\u2019ve just managed to piss me off that much,\u201d he said, narrowing his eyes at him before taking a step back and crossing his arms. \u201cLeave. Now. Rubbing at his neck, Jesse spat a swear word and stumbled back. \u201cYou\u2019ll regret this. I warned you. She\u2019ll ruin you and use you and break you and you\u2019ll beg her for it.\u201d\u00a0The door stood open as he backed away and left.<\/p>\n
