For a moment he concentrates completely on his armour, how could he answer such a question? Telling her would mean her life and the lives of those whom called Camelot home. An\u00a0<\/span>impossible<\/em> predicament. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0T<\/strong>he young knight turns to face her, his fingers brushing lightly against the metal of his armour. \u201cI\u2019m not hiding anything\u201d he tells her simply.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

She bursts out, \u201cFates can be changed!\u201d She wants to say more, so much more, wise things about broken stones and the wearing away by water, about change and hope and love. About how facing one\u2019s fate is the only way to keep from being destroyed by it.<\/span><\/p>\n

But she looks at him, and knows he won\u2019t hear her. So instead, she says another thing, another true thing, knowing it will hurt him.<\/p>\n

“I would rather die here, now, than be without you. I will not go anywhere without you stay with me.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0A<\/strong>nger welled up in him. \u201cSummer, you don\u2019t understand!\u201d he tells her. \u201cMy fate can\u2019t change, it was written since before I was born, just as Merlin\u2019s, just as Arthur\u2019s it\u00a0can\u2019t<\/em> change.\u201d Mordred sighs. \u201cYou need to go, I beg of you.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

“How can I possibly understand when you refuse to tell me anything?! You think — you think I’ve to do with your fate?
