Luckily, I don\u2019t see myself being buried under a collapsed building – I have my own escape route in sticky situations like those. *huffs in amusement and smiles serenely* I would think the nature of a mask is to hide something that you don\u2019t wish to be found. So\u2026forgive my bluntness, but in that sense, you\u2019d be wrong.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Mm,\u00a0I don\u2019t believe I know your sister –\u00a0<\/span>what could make you say that? *looks vaguely amused* I never claimed that my past was any worse than the ones of others and I don\u2019t pretend to compare what I\u2019ve been through to the experiences any other person has had. I just know I paid some very high prices for the life I have now and only now in hindsight can I say the pain and loss was\u2026I suppose worth it but I have a hard time accepting that.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

And what kind of skill would that be, Summer? Because to my knowledge, I\u2019m the only person with my skillset and that\u2019s the reason I stick around and SHIELD thinks me usable. *raises an eyebrow at her* Prying is part of the job – it all depends on how and to who that\u2019s applied to. *shrugs* Everyone has their own experiences in the past that make them who they are today and if it happens to be something negative\u2026well. It\u2019s my opinion that agents here are either already damaged or become damaged, but SHIELD is someplace that provides us with support and purpose – to help those who can\u2019t help themselves and to keep them safe.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

*laughs, bitterly* I suppose that’s true for Winter, though not for me. I won’t join SHIELD entirely; I have to have that freedom to turn down assignments and apply my skills in ways I deem fit.
