\u00a0He looked a little sheepish then. \u201cSorry, would you like me to fix you a cup of either then?\u201d Victor paused a moment. \u201cRight, well, you don\u2019t have to love someone to care about them. I can\u2019t say that I love you because I\u2019ve only known you for two days yet, I\u2019ve just shagged you which, for me, implies some level of caring. Like I said already, I\u2019m not the shag \u2018em and leave \u2018em type. At the very least I feel comfortable around you but this is your house and if I\u2019m being a little too forward I can leave.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re starting to sound like me,\u201d Summer returned wryly. \u201cIf I wanted you to leave, I\u2019d say so.\u201d She collected forks and sat down at the table, watching Victor. \u201cI\u2019m not really complaining. Just \u2026 confused. I can\u2019t remember the last time someone \/wanted\/ to shag me. Much less,\u201d she gestured around, \u201c\/spoil\/ me.\u201d With quick, economical motions, she tied her hair in a lovers\u2019 haste knot.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cAm I? Starting to sound like you?\u201d he asked, \u201cIs that a good thing or a bad thing?\u201d Victor smirked then made a show of checking her over with his eyes. \u201cYou can\u2019t remember the last time someone wanted to shag you? That\u2019s ridiculous, you\u2019d have to have been living under a rock in order for that to happen. And if you think this,\u201d he returned her gesture regarding the food, \u201cis spoiling then you haven\u2019t seen anything.\u201d Victor shrugged. \u201cI\u2019m a bachelor with money at his disposal, I tend to be a little generous cos in all reality I\u2019ve no need for all of it.\u201d He rocked back on his heels a little bit, he wasn\u2019t the type to flaunt and horde his money, he liked to give things away to his friends and anonymously help out non-profits. \u201cAnyways, what would you like to drink?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

“Victor, darling,” she drawled, folding her arms, “I would \/really\/ appreciate it if you’d stop insinuating I’m a liar. There’s the end of some apple juice in the fridge. Now,” she leaned forward, “I am, again, not complaining. It’s your money, you do what you like. I’m not ignorant of your — hmm — appreciation?
