\u201cActually, I haven\u2019t, but I pick up things quickly, so it shouldn\u2019t be a problem. I\u2019ll never be on \/your\/ level, obviously, but I expect I can come to grips with the basics in short order.\u201d Summer went over to the computer and peered at the screen for a moment before kneeling down to get a good look at the box. \u201cYou need to clean this poor machine, Doctor.\u201d She grinned up at him.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He laughed lightly, moving past her and to where he was behind his desk initially. \u201cIt\u2019s fairly simple stuff. I just need the results written into the notebook there.\u201d He gestured to the black-covered notebook resting beside the computer on the desk. \u201cWhen it\u2019s finished I can show you the organization.\u201d When she knelt down beside the computer, a confused look flashed across his face, and he shook his head with a small smile when she turned to face him. \u201cI\u2019ve never been good with the\u00a0maintenance\u00a0of this stuff. That\u2019s more Tony\u2019s area.\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll come in late some night when things aren\u2019t so busy and dismantle it for cleaning.\u201d It was more a declaration than a question, really. \u201cShall I just watch while it runs, then, or is there something I can be working on in the meantime? Filing, typing up notes, organising, running errands, fetching coffee? Maybe another program I can be learning while this one runs?\u201d Summer shoved herself up off the floor, dusting her hands off. \u201cListening to you ramble while you work things out?\u201d She threw him a wink for that one.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He raised an eyebrow but shrugged it off. \u201cYou don\u2019t have to wait until after hours, you know. If you\u2019re concerned about being in the way or something of the sort you don\u2019t have to worry about it.\u201d He did a second scan of the lab, his fingers dragging lightly against the top of the metal lab desk. Gesturing toward a few piles of stacked papers, he smiled a bit sheepishly. \u201cThose could use some filing. I\u2019ve been meaning to do it for a while now, but I keep putting it off.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Summer picked up the stack and started flipping through them, walking over to the filing cabinet. “Taking down a computer system always happens after hours, because otherwise it’s expected to be in use.
