Summer sighed, folding her arms. \u201cI have to admit, I was hoping that when you had something to say to me next it would be a little more \u2026\u201d she flicked a hand, looking for a word, \u201cinformative than \u2018kinda miss you\u2019. But apparently I\u2019m a sucker and can\u2019t stay away from you. And you\u2019re being more than usually weird.\u201d<\/p>\n

Crossing the room, she dropped herself heavily into the sofa and looked at Tony upside down. \u201cSo. You missed me, kinda.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cI\u2019m usually weird?\u201d he asked, with an exaggerated pout.\u00a0 \u201cYou\u2019re hardly the one to judge who\u2019s normal, yeah?\u00a0 I could be any Joe next to you.\u201d\u00a0 He grinned.\u00a0 \u201cBut, yeah.\u00a0 You\u2019ve been missed.\u00a0 More than you might expect.\u201d<\/p>\n

And then he was leaning over her, arms bracketing her to the couch, brown eyes bleeding to a mirrored black.\u00a0 \u201cNo wonder you hunger for more control; more power.\u00a0 You can\u2019t even feel him right now.\u00a0 He\u2019s fighting; screaming.\u00a0 It\u2019s impossible to get this fucker to just go to sleep in here, and you can\u2019t even taste his terror?\u00a0 Here you are, spitting in his face just one more time, because your feelings were hurt.\u00a0 Is it any wonder it takes my intervention to get him to just text you?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cWh-hat?\u201d Summer flinched back from Tony, from the being who had \u2026 replaced Tony, shoving herself into the cushions. Away from those black eyes, framed in a loved face. \u201cWhat are you?\u201d Her voice shook. \u201cT-tony?!\u201d Heedless of the cost, she flung her senses wide open, finally noticing what she should have seen the moment \u2026 no, should have sensed hours ago.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat have you done to Tony?!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cLike I said, he\u2019s still in here.\u201d\u00a0 His grin widened.\u00a0 \u201cYou can feel him now, can\u2019t you?\u00a0 You know I speak the truth.\u00a0 As for me?\u201d\u00a0 He laughed, cheerful and so like Tony on his increasingly rare good days, and leaned down closer to her face.\u00a0 \u201cI\u2019m from the land down under.\u00a0 A salesman, if you would.\u201d\u00a0 He finally stood, folding his arms across his chest, but still looking down at her as his tone softened.\u00a0 \u201cYou could probably benefit from what I have to say.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

“Do I have a choice about listening? No, skip that.” Summer rolled her lips together, considering Tony’s body and the thing that wore it like a suit.<\/p>\n

Like Tony wore his suit.<\/p>\n

She flinched away from that thought. “What do you want? To give him back? What do I have to do?”<\/p>\n
