She jumped up the fire escape and walked inside, not paying Summer much attention as she hopped up onto the counter, her right arm hanging limply at her side, the cigarette in her mouth nearly gone. She just was not having a great day, and to top it off she was missing people, which just fucked with her head while on missions. Turning slightly she watched Summer with a blank stare.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cShow me where you\u2019re hurt. And pick one of those bottles,\u201d Summer ordered. \u201cI can suppress the pain, but I\u2019m not holding that on you for long; it\u2019s bad for the reflexes.\u201d Putting a hand on the dislocated shoulder, she closed her eyes, frowning her way through the pan and tensed muscles. \u201cExplain to me why you\u2019re doing this again?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

She reached over and grabbed the bottle of gin, quickly getting rid of the top and taking a long drink. \u201dBecause I can\u2019t do anything else. I am good at killing things and good at being a shadow, nothing more.\u201d She said looking at her arm and sighing.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll have to work on that, then. Hold still!\u201d Summer pushed Deva back against the cabinets and jerked the right arm forward quickly. There was a satisfying pop as the bone resocketed. \u201cWhat about armour?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

She couldn\u2019t control the snarl that passed from her lips, \u201dAs you can see I wear revealing clothing, a majority of my targets are men, and I use that to my advantage,\u201d She replied drinking some more, looking up at the ceiling, sadness taking over her.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

“Hey, don’t snarl at me.” Summer hugged Deva. “I might be able to help more if you could tell me from the beginning what’s going on. You ought to have at least one person you can trust.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
