Summer blushed faintly. \u201cAww, you\u2019re welcome.\u201d She let her eyes rest on him for a moment again before looking away. \u201cIt made growing up interesting, but not obviously so. \u201cSmart people aren\u2019t really well thought of when they\u2019re young, you know?\u201d She shrugged. \u201cMy sister always had it much easier than me.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cI should imagine so,\u201d Replied Fenrir with a grin. He nodded. \u201cI have known others in my own family who shared such a plight. I was never so gifted as them at a young age\u2014or today. My siblings all are much wiser than I, and I was a rather\u2026\u201d He pursed his lips, looking for an apt word to use. \u201chardheaded<\/em> as a pup\u2014child.\u201d<\/p>\n

A dark brow was raised. \u201cI did not know you had any siblings.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cI have a twin. Our parents thought it was funny to name us Summer and Winter. We\u2019re not the look-alike kind of twins, and she\u2019s always been \u2026 \u201d Summer paused, her gaze seeming to turn inward. \u201cBetter than me.\u201d She drank some wine, frowning. \u201cShe\u2019s with SHIELD now.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

At her tone and her facial expression, the mood\u00a0sobered\u00a0some. Fenrir frowned slightly. He set down his own glass and leaned slightly against the table, arms folded before him as he looked her in the eye as candidly as he was able. \u201cDo not sell yourself so short, Summer. I doubt any can be \u2018better than you\u2019, as you say. You are intelligent, caring, and brave. As far as I have seen, you are truly one in a million on this planet. The Nine Realms would be a safer place if those in the Realm Eternal were more alike to you.\u201d He leaned back, taking a sip of his own glass.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am sorry to have made you uncomfortable with my questions. That was not my intention.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Now Summer blushed hard. “Flatterer,” she said softly. “I wish you wouldn’t say things like that. You’ve never even met Winter, so how can you judge, anyway? I’m just … ” another shrug, “me. Not special.
