\u201cOoooh, flattery will get you everywhere, boyo,\u201d Summer grinned, shaking a finger at him. \u201cKeep that up and I\u2019ll just keep you right here at home with me.\u201d Her tone was light, teasing, and then she smacked herself on the forehead. \u201cWhat am I doing? We were going to walk! I\u2019m so stupid sometimes.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cAh, but honesty does not often share a name with flattery, dear Summer.\u201d He jumped slightly when she harmed herself, a frown showing his displeasure that she would lay hand on her own skin in such a way. \u201cDo you still wish to walk?\u201d He asked. Either way he wouldn\u2019t mind. He was just eager to watch the evening with his friend unfold.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cI really do like to walk when I can. I don\u2019t have to worry about finding parking, or what I drink.\u201d Stepping beside Fenrir, Summer looked up at his bold profile. A little shyly, she said, \u201cYou really are a genuinely nice guy, Fen,\u201d and slipped an arm around his waist for a swift hug. Then she was half-skipping ahead, leading the way up the sidewalk.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He smiled. \u201cThank you. As you are a very pleasant woman to be around.\u201d A little stunted, he awkwardly returned the hug\u2014or at least tried to\u2014before she skirted ahead, leaving him to follow. The air, although laced with pollutants that he could feel in his lungs, was pleasant. It was not overwhelmingly cold, nor was it too hot. It was perfect. Or as close to perfection as Midgard could get.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhere did you say we were going?\u201d He inquired, more trying to reignite their conversation rather than actually seeking an answer.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

“It’s called Michelangelo’s. Great Italian place. It’s really small, but a lot of places in New York are. With so many people here, space is really at a premium.” Summer made an effort to keep her distance, physically, from Fenrir, after that hug. Had it really been that long? Surely she was not<\/em> that starved for touch.<\/p>\n
