Cat had protested volubly as Summer had clipped his claws, and now he gave the treat\u2014and Summer\u2014an offended look, refusing to accept it right away. \u00a0Loki put a hand to his face, hiding his smile.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cJust like your papa,\u201d she told him, and put a pile of treats on the floor a foot away. \u201cAll standoffish. Must be inherited.\u201d Sighing, she stroked the top of Cat\u2019s head with a fingertip, looking up in time to catch Loki\u2019s expression.<\/p>\n

\u201cAre you laughing at me? You are! You\u2019re laughing at me.\u201d She tried \u2014 and failed \u2014 to imitate Cat\u2019s indignant expression.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Loki\u2019s smile tightened, a dimple appearing in his cheek. \u00a0
\u201cNo. \u00a0I am not. \u00a0I am, in truth, glad to see that Cat gives this treatments to others aside from myself.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

“Laughing with<\/em> me, then. Got it.” Summer levered herself up off the floor. “Well, I can take a hint when Cat glares it at me.
