\u201cIs that the way to Loki\u2019s heart, then?\u201d Summer asked, clearly amused. \u201cSpoil his kitten?\u201d Picking up the catnip mouse, she waved it over Macrowafter\u2019s head, then tossed it across the room. \u201cGood thing I brought many things to spoil the kitty with.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cHmm,\u201d Loki said, sounding amused. \u00a0\u201dYou misunderstand\u2014it is not my heart you must win, it is Cat\u2019s. \u00a0This is, after all, his house.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Summer nodded to Cat. \u201cHe seems pretty happy to me.\u201d She brushed a fingertip over one black ear, causing him to startle. Equally gently she brushed kitten and master with her power.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Cat rolled over and seized her finger in fierce paws, little claws pricking her skin as he tried to drag her finger to his mouth\u2014a little mewling growl rumbling his whole self all the while.<\/p>\n

Loki was sitting with a faint smile upon his face\u2014but Summer\u2019s power met with a blank wall, a facade of nothingness.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

A soft smile curving her mouth, Summer looked down at Cat and shook her finger a tiny bit in his mouth. “You’re a precious boy, Loki’s heart. You guard it well, understand?” she murmured. He just licked her finger and tried to chew on it again. “Yes, yes, popsicle finger.”<\/p>\n
