Summer laughed a little, out of relief as much as anything, and followed the little black kitten. Setting one bag on the floor, she delved into it and emerged with a handful of fuzzy, brightly coloured things \u2014 toy mice. The other hand came up with another mouse-shape, but a dark green-brown. This one she held out and waggled at Cat, before spreading them all out on the floor.<\/p>\n

The next thing to appear out of the bag was a smallish paper box. \u201cI brought an offering for the master, too. I hope you like chocolate.\u201d She rose, and held out the box with a hopeful smile.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Cat followed the movements of her hands, seemingly mesmerised. \u00a0As Summer waggled the dark green mouse, Cat tensed\u2014and then fairly\u00a0flew<\/em> forward, attacking with paws and teeth and fierce little feline sounds. \u00a0Loki was watching with eyebrows still raised, and accepted the box of chocolates with a rather bemused face.
\u201c\u2026thank you. \u00a0Macrowafter seems to approve of your offerings.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cWell, that one is compressed catnip. He can\u2019t get blissed out on that. He might de-tail the others, though.\u201d She gestured at the more brightly coloured ones scattered about. \u201cAnd yourself? Do you approve?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Loki kept his eyes on Cat.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow can I help but approve when Macrowafter so clearly is enjoying himself?\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

“Is that the way to Loki’s heart, then?” Summer asked, clearly amused. “Spoil his kitten?” Picking up the catnip mouse, she waved it over Macrowafter’s head, then tossed it across the room. “Good thing I brought many things to spoil the kitty with.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
