Summer snugged one of the buckles on her chestplate a little tighter. \u201cI\u2019m probably the only person in the world who would trust you right now.\u201d She shook her head a little, already-loosened hair rippling. \u201cI must be insane. Yes, I\u2019ll fight with you, Loki. You\u2019ll owe me a favour, after.\u201d Assuming we don\u2019t get killed<\/em>, she thought, a little grimly.<\/p>\n

Laying a hand on the device he was holding out to her, she nodded. \u201cLet\u2019s go.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cTrusting me may be unwise, but I suppose we shall see,\u201d he said through a crooked smile. \u00a0They clutched the device and Loki spun it just so, locking onto the energy of Thanos.<\/p>\n

In an instant of blinding light, they were landing rather roughly upon a desolate planet of deep black rock, the sky a haze of gray and far away stars. \u00a0There was no movement in sight.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201c\u2018Why, this is hell, nor am I out of it\u2019,\u201d Summer quoted, softly. \u201cI sure hope you know what you\u2019re doing, liesmith.\u201d Closing her eyes, she spread one hand out in the air, reaching.<\/p>\n

There.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s someone here, alright.\u201d Thought and fear drew her wings to blazing life, casting brilliance over the barren rock. \u201cDo we go to them, or they to us?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cI am no coward,\u201d Loki spoke just above a whisper, mostly just to convince himself. \u00a0\u201dWe will find them. \u00a0Do you know how many?\u201d \u00a0He cursed his own magic for being so lacking in comparison to her abilities. \u00a0It was not his style to rely on others, but this would have to do. \u00a0<\/p>\n

He looked around quickly, wary. \u00a0The air hummed faintly, far off noises drifting to them in the heavy dark.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

“Two. Close together. A blur of others, pooling together, very faint. Almost … stuttering. As if they don’t feel at all, or not much.” Summer could feel the flame, pooling in her veins, waiting to be called into death.<\/p>\n
