She looks at him for a single moment, long enough for him to notice, but then quickly looks away. It\u2019s something that he doesn\u2019t understand, but he brushes it off right away. \u201cIt\u2019s okay,\u201d he says in response to the concept about history, but then she asks another question. It\u2019s an intense question, something that obviously takes a lot of thought. He temporarily purses his lips, pondering upon what could be the best way to describe his power.<\/small><\/p>\n

“Well\u2026when you\u2019re not<\/em> using it it can be a pain in the ass. There\u2019s a breathtaking amount of strain on your brain if you don\u2019t control it correctly, but it\u2019ll still hurt a remote amount if you do control it right. When you do<\/em> use it, it\u2019s totally crazy. It\u2019s like you\u2019re in their body. You\u2019re temporarily that person.\u201d<\/small><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

“That’s why you’re constantly in pain?” Her immediate instinct, now that she knows, is to block it. Not, block it out from her mind, but block it out of his. She even starts to reach for him, to do it, without asking, but jerks her hand back. “Uh, what’s it like for the other person?
