On the other hand, he seemed pretty serious about not letting his puppy pester Helios. Reticence wasn\u2019t necessarily a bad quality \u2014 gods knew, she had a tendency to babble.<\/p>\n<p>But he\u2019d already said he didn\u2019t want to sit down, so she fell silent, fingers busy. If his life was as quiet as he was, this both of them having their doors open would be easy. Hopefully, her little gaming get-togethers wouldn\u2019t be a problem \u2014 granted they laughed a lot, and loudly, but surely that wouldn\u2019t bother him?<\/p>\n<p>She supposed, since he wasn\u2019t exactly volunteering information, she\u2019d have to wait and see.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>After a moment of thought, he decided a few hours over at Summer\u2019s place wouldn\u2019t be all that bad.<\/p>\n<p>His favorite thing to do was observe people &#8212; not in a creepy way at all, in more of a I-see-you-and-I-understand way.<\/p>\n<p>He wants to understand her, and how he hasn\u2019t noticed such a\u2026 unique soul in all of his residence.<\/p>\n<p>So, he sat on the floor, cross-legged, little Diesel\u2019s fascination with Helios getting thrown to the wind as he squirmed to settle in his owner\u2019s lap for a quick snooze.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;How do you\u2026 do that?&#8221; he asked, gesturing with one hand to her work, the other scratching behind his pup\u2019s ear.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Summer&#8217;s mouth twitched in a wry smile, and she lifted her hands a little. &#8220;This one is really simple &#8212; I&#8217;m just threading beads, well chips in this case, on a string. This is a particular kind of wire called tigertail, that&#8217;s very thin and flexible.&#8221; She finished the piece of the pattern she was working on, and laid it down to pick up a completed piece with multiple swoops.<\/p>\n<p>She spread it out between her hands, holding it up for him. &#8220;This one is a little more complicated.&#8221; Putting it back down, she nudged a box of finished pieces toward him.
