Isaac shrunk back, curling into a ball against the wall. He wasn\u2019t entirely sure what was going on himself\u2026. Fear and pain poisoned his body as he tried his best not to cry. After hearing a familiar voice he glanced up \u201cNo-he\u2019ll hurt you! D-Don\u2019t\u201d It was no use, she was already stood between the scared wolf and this brute of a man. Isaac felt a tear escape down his cheek as the man grabbed\u00a0the girl, tossing her to the floor in one, effortless motion.

Her fingers curled into claws with the force of her anger. \u201cLet\u2019s not get \/aggressive\/?\u201d she spat. \u201cYou\u2019re trying to kill him!\u201d She stalked forward, driving him back, swiping at him with hands filled with fire. The fire didn\u2019t seem to burn her, dancing and curling against her skin, but the heat radiated into the small alley, and sparks drifted upward. She\u2019d never been so angry in her life, and it was that, perhaps, that impelled her next actions.<\/p>\n

She impressed fear on the hunter; terrible, debilitating, unreasoning terror, of her, of Isaac, of the supernatural. She burned it into his brain, and said, \u201cLeave, now, and never come back.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The man felt something deep inside him change as the creature attacked him, ripping away at his mind until he felt a spark go out. Next thing he knew, the people standing in front of him were more terrifying then anything he\u2019d ever seen before, causing him to cower in their presence. As soon as he was told to leave, he took the opportunity, dashing out of the alley and down the street. <\/p>\n

Even though the hunter was gone, Isaac was badly traumatised by the whole experience. It\u2019d brought back too many bad memories from his childhood, the kinds of things that left him feeling worthless and unwanted. He curled into a ball against the wall, sobbing quietly to himself.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Shaking with reaction, Summer let the fire fade from her hands, wondering. She hadn’t known she could do that — any of that. A soft sound from behind her made her whirl, and then her eyes glittered with tears. “Oh,” she said quietly, “oh honey. No. No no no. Come here.” She pulled at Isaac, putting her arms around him. “He’s gone. Shhhh. It’s okay now. It’s okay. Are you hurt?”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
