It\u2019s \/awful\/, but I\u2019m totally conscious throughout the whole thing.” She reached out to tousle his hair. “Isaac, I\u2019ve been dealing with these for a couple years now. I\u2019ll be fine, I know what to do.”<\/p>\n

Thinking about his offer to try to deal with Jesse, she frowned a little. \u201cI \u2026 don\u2019t know if you should talk to him. I\u2019ve never seen him like he was today. Then again, he\u2019s never seen me with another guy \u2014 maybe he was jealous. I think \u2014 you should do what you think is best, there. I don\u2019t know \/what\/ to do anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

“Yeah, and that sounds\u00a0so\u00a0<\/em>much healthier,\u201d he drawled sarcastically and leaned back, folding his arms across his chest and regarding her with a frown. Listening as she continued her explanation and then relaxing and nuzzling at her fingers, he shrugged helplessly and shook his head. \u201cIt scared me, okay?\u201d<\/p>\n

“How about this – if he hurts you or threatens you in anyway ever again\u2026I can punch him then?” He piped up eagerly, recalling his face to memory should he ever need it again. He hated the sound of Summer\u2019s fear earlier and it had took every bit of self-restraint he possessed not to act out to protect her.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
