Not you\u2026it would break me\u2026&#8221; He trailed off then and bit down hard on his trembling bottom lip, before twisting to gaze at her foot. &#8220;Do\u2026do you want me to drive you to the hospital?&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Wh&#8212; no, no. It&#8217;s the other ankle. I&#8217;ll just wrap it up.&#8221; Very gently, she disentangled her hand from his, and turned the car on. &#8220;You aren&#8217;t a monster. I would know.
