“You don’t get to choose if I protect you, either, Deva. Chiya.” Summer refused to flinch. “Or if I care about you, and how. You’re right, I can’t stop you going out and getting hurt. I can’t save you from yourself.” She sighed. “But I’ll not stop trying to help you any way I can.”
She sighed as she ran a hand through her candy red hair, ”I get to bring my snake or I don’t stay with you,” She muttered smirking before pulling the girl into a hug, ”You must be my sister if you are this stubborn.”
“Blame Loki,” Summer smiled into Deva’s shoulder. “Tell me what you need in your room, hon. And don’t think I’ve forgotten the way you ignored my question about your age, either, girl.”
She lifted her head and smirked, ”Don’t you know you’re not supposed to ask a lady her age, how rude,” She said in feigned sadness. ”And just the basics really, I can get everything else.”
Summer made a raspberry. “Sisters should know. I’ll leave the futon in there. Stop dodging the question, or I’ll tickle you.” She flicked her eyes side to side, then added, “Or sic Loki on you.”
She had a blank expression, ”Tickle me and I will shoot you in the foot, I’m technically 21 jesus.”
Summer kissed Deva on the cheek. “Thank you. You’ve to go out tonight, yes? I know you’re careful. Come get me if you need me.” She put a palm over Deva’s heart. “I’ll be listening for you.”
She smiled softly and kissed Summer’s cheek, ”I know doll, I’ll try not to track blood anywhere,” She said snickering.
“That’s what carpet cleaner is for. Maybe I’ll just install one of those beach-side type showers on the fire escape, hey?”
