She smirked,”Don’t ask hunny, it’s long and complicated, anyway, I don’t go anywhere without him, so..”
“I will ask. Forget the snake, right now. Come on, Deva, if we’re going to be sisters we should know things about each other,” Summer’s voice hardened, “and I’ll protect you whether you like it or not.”
Her eyes turned dark, ”I thank you for the thought; however, I don’t need to be protected, I do that just fine minus a few stabs here and there.” She said turning away from Summer, ”Love is supposed to be amazing, make you feel special, sadly my last love was a nut case that like to experiment on things.”
She grabbed Deva’s arm, keeping her from walking away. “You don’t get to make that choice, Adeva.” Deliberately she used the full name, not an endearment. “You’re one of mine now. Tell me. Let me help you. Let me be a sister to you.”
She hissed as she got in Summer’s face, ”You are not my mother or my father, I make the choices I damned well please to make, I may care about you, but you need to remember that.” She said, through clenched teeth.
“You don’t get to choose if I protect you, either, Deva. Chiya.” Summer refused to flinch. “Or if I care about you, and how. You’re right, I can’t stop you going out and getting hurt. I can’t save you from yourself.” She sighed. “But I’ll not stop trying to help you any way I can.”
She sighed as she ran a hand through her candy red hair, ”I get to bring my snake or I don’t stay with you,” She muttered smirking before pulling the girl into a hug, ”You must be my sister if you are this stubborn.”
“Blame Loki,” Summer smiled into Deva’s shoulder. “Tell me what you need in your room, hon. And don’t think I’ve forgotten the way you ignored my question about your age, either, girl.”
