“Kaaaaay … ” Summer hesitated. “I didn’t … I mean … I … ” She pressed her lips together. “You’re angry now. You’re thinking, you didn’t mean to tell me all that. You … you didn’t. I guessed, because of your emotions. Please don’t be angry.”

Tony pursed his lips and took a deep inhale. He was disappointed his attempt in changing the conversation was lost on Summer; she was smarter than he’d hoped. “I don’t even know you,” he said passively after a moment. “No, I didn’t mean to tell you all that but I’m not mad,” he waved his hands, dismissing the whole thing. “Just forget about. Would you like to see the rest of the tower?” he tried once more to change the subject, this time accompanying the attempt with the fake prize-winning grin.

She let herself be diverted, for now. Damn her curiosity, and her conscience, that kept drawing her into things she’d no business being involved in. “You’re welcome to get to know me,” she commented. “Ask me anything, I don’t keep secrets. But sure, let’s carry on.”
