He pocketed his phone after he hit send, had Jarvis tell Happy to ready the car, and headed down to the lobby. Within twenty five minutes, he was knocking on Summer’s door in a mostly perfunctory manner and then stepping inside. He was still dressed from work that day, in slacks, a blue button down shirt, and a tie. And bizarrely enough, a black fedora on his head. “You called for entertainment?”
All four cats converged on him, Helios going so far as to stand on his hind legs and pat at Tony’s knees. Summer grinned. “Nice hat. You shouldn’t look so tempting when I’m laid up, it’s not fair. Did you roll in catnip or something?”
“Not quite,” Tony said, somehow managing to sound both amused and morose at the same time. He reached up and plucked the hat from his head, and the ears were revealed. He crouched down to say hello to the cats, scratching Helios’s chin, the tip of his tail twitching rapidly back and forth. “I got hit by an anon,” he clarified, as he simply scooped Helios up and straightened back to his full height.
Summer’s mouth fell open. “You … have … kitty … ears!” Her voice rose higher on each successive word. “…At least this is a nice kind of anon?” She pushed herself upright on the couch, starting to laugh, clutching her middle. Helios headbutted Tony’s chin and purred at full volume. “Come here,” Summer finally gasped, waving a hand.
