Victor chuckled a bit. “Yeah, there are times when I want as well, but now isn’t one of those times, love.” There was a mischievous light in his eyes and then for the first time Summer saw Victor’s eyes actually go through the process of changing colour. They were previously honey gold and were now blending into a sapphire blue with emerald green specks. It was something no one had ever seen, if anything they just saw the before and after. He leaned in and cupped her jaw then kissed her sweetly yet hungrily on her lips.
Summer melted under Victor’s mouth, swaying forward to align their bodies. She watched his eyes change, and closed her own, choosing to simply — give up thought. Desire, stoked by his kiss, curled her hands deeper into his hair, and she hummed, deepening the kiss.
He let out a small groan and dipped his tongue into her mouth. He broke away from the kiss. “Summer, I’d hate for us to get carried away.” He chuckled, joking, teasing her.
Her chuckle answered his. “Define ‘carried away,’” she murmured, looking up at him through her eyelashes. “Because I’m suddenly feeling a need to reaffirm life.” Slowly, Summer untwined herself from Victor, holding out a hand. “Come.”
Victor’s eyebrows shot up and his eyes darkened. He took her hand, kissing her. “And in what way would we be reaffirming life?”
“I’m sure a clever boy such as yourself can come up with some way,” she purred, pulling him down the hallway. Sleepy-eyed cats flicked ears at the pair as they entered the room, then abandoned the bed and its plush coverlet entirely with a series of thumps.
