“Why don’t you put off the ocelot for a few weeks until we see how that goes? Ocelots do breed. Maybe you can change my mind.”
“I’m positive I can change your mind, love.” Victor said, radiating hope and happiness. “They’re brilliant majestic creatures, Summer, and with proper training an ocelot would be a great pet for us…me, I mean me.”
“Bit like you.” Her mouth twisted in a sideways smile. “You don’t have to have my permission.”
Victor smiled an almost boyish smile. “Like I said, I want you to be comfortable when you come over, not looking over your shoulder wondering if my cat is going to pounce on you.”
“Victor, darlin’.” She shook her head and smiled. “All you have to do is let it outside. While it’s a kitten I’m sure it will be okay.”
