Victor waltzed back into the bathroom and scratched behind Doc’s ears before kissing Summer’s neck. “Anything I can do to help Summer?”
“Bring my dress?” She tilted her head a little bit, then pushed Victor away, smiling. “What did I say about shenanigans? We’ll never get out of here if you keep that up.”
A look of mock indignation came over Victor. “Shenanigans? What shenanigans?” He left the bathroom chuckling and returned with her dress. “I am ready love, so I won’t be the cause if we’re late dear?” he finished with a playful smirk.
“Ooh, someone thinks he’s funny!” She pulled it over her head and wrestled the zipper up, then stalked out to stare at the rack of earrings. It took her a couple minutes to finish up and put on shoes. She turned to Victor. “Do I meet your approval?”
He looked her up and down in an almost predatory manner. “You always look beautiful Summer, but tonight, tonight you’re going to outshine all of the other ladies there dear.” Victor grabbed her a coat then threw his on and held his arm out for her. “Ready love?”
“I don’t know what I’m ready /for/, but I suppose so.” She tucked her hand over his arm and let him lead her out to the car, forbearing to ask any more questions.
