“You’re making it up as you go along.” She followed him out, twining her hair up into a bun and loosening the straps on her cuirasse. Silently, she settled herself into the car, fingers tensing and flexing on her knees. This would be different than her usual work — probably more combat, and definitely facing an enemy she didn’t know much about. With a little luck, though, her talents would give Victor an edge and wind things up very quickly.
Victor shrugged as he sat down in the driver’s seat. “I’m only making the getting there up as I go. I have the actual battle plan in mind, I jus’ want t’ see the terrain first.”
The drive, as promised, was short and soon they were face to face with a man who seemed to be in his mid-forties. “Hey Jim,” Victor greeted the man somewhat warmly, “we need t’ catch a ride. I have the coordinates but it’s a day’s drive off an’ we need to get there quickly.” Jim chuckled and shook his head as he said his hellos and told Victor that he could actually take them out now as he was planning on going out for a ‘joy ride’.
Victor clasped Jim’s forearm and thanked him as they boarded the plane. The actual flight was fairly short, going for no more than 3 hours. Victor had Jim land at one of the smaller airports in the area and thanked him once more as they got off.
As Victor looked around he saw that the village they were in was perhaps the most populated place in the area with a population of 5000. He also noticed that a majority of the population seemed to be werewolves, they were definitely in the right place. Victor turned to Summer, “Do you want to set up camp a little ways away or get a hotel here? I want at least a day to scope the area and run over the plan together.”
“There’s no point in camping out. We might as well have a comfortable bed.” Summer winked slowly at Victor, arms folded as she gazed around. It was … almost eerily familiar. Small town businesses with faded signs, streetlight posts with seasonal decorations between carefully trimmed trees. The hotel was clearly a renovated old house, lovingly kept up.
It was hard to believe they were there to hunt a vampire.
Victor smiled, “Good point there.” He said as he headed towards the hotel. When they got inside he smiled to the person behind the desk, ” ‘Ello, one room, queen size bed?”
“Sure, we’ve got a few open rooms, here’s a key.” The receptionist smiled as Victor took the key and headed up the stairs. The room was the 3rd on the right, quickly, Victor put the key in the lock and opened the door, leading the way into a fairly nice hotel room. There was a queen size bed and a tv hung in a corner. The bathroom was normal sized and the shower fairly big. “Well, not bad at all I think,” Victor said as he turned to Summer.
“It’s a hotel room,” she shrugged. “I just figured walls would muffle your moaning better.” Deftly, she unbuckled her cuirasse, dropping it on the floor and stretching out her arms, then going to work on the rest of the armour pieces. “You know I didn’t bring any clothes or anything, right?”
