She blinks at him for a long silent moment. Then, very carefully, she asks, “/Which/ Tony?”

Tommy chuckles. “Tony Stark. Of course. Unless there’s more than one…. and I don’t think that’s possible.”

She opens her mouth, then closes it, then opens it again. “Tommy, I’m Tony’s girlfriend. And I don’t know you. So … you’re here for a different Tony Stark than I am.”

“Spring’s coming,” she says comfortably. “I’m sorry you’re bored, though. You can sit down and talk to me if you want.” She pats the concrete step beside her.

“Thank God.” Tommy chuckles and sits next to her. He looks around, resting his arms on his legs. “Hm, where do we start? I guess I should ask you where you’re from.”

Summer pushes a loose strand of red hair out of her eyes, smiling. “Well, I was born in the south, and I pretty much stayed in North Carolina until I graduated college, and then I came to New York City. I’ve been here since then. Ten years, wow.”

“I grew up in Baltimore, got married and then moved to Malibu.” Tommy smiles and picks a piece of fuzz off of his jeans. “I come to New York for one thing. Stark Tower. Well, Tony, actually.”

She returns the smile, though it’s missing the flirtatious edge it would usually have for someone so good-looking. “I’m Summer. Something you need, Tommy?”

“Nice to meet you, Summer.” He shrugs. “Not really. Just taking a walk.”

“It’s a perfect day for that.” It would be more perfect if Tony wasn’t working, but she couldn’t have everything. “Just wandering, or sightseeing, or what?”

“Wandering, I guess. I’m kinda bored.” He smiles slightly. “I wish it was warmer, though.”
