“Whoa, whoa, you better sit down before you fall down. Right behind you, honey. Get your head down before you pass out.” Summer jumped up and darted into the kitchen, running a glass of water and dropping a couple ice cubes in. She pressed her cold fingertips to her temple as she came back in, trying to settle her own stomach from the shock of fear.

“Here. Both hands.”

As she dipped her head past her knees, Uhura did her best to try and calm her nerves. How did this happen? How did she manage to launch herself centuries into the past? Her eyes stung with tears as she started to hyperventilate, a soft whimper escaping her lips before she felt the glass of water being placed between both of her hands. “How did this happen?” she whispered mostly to herself; she had a feeling this young woman had no idea how she got here, either.

Summer put a hand on the dark girl’s shoulder, gently. “We’ll get to that. You’re not where you expected to be. Right now just breathe. Come on, drink a little.” She didn’t have enough pieces to understand the fright just yet, but that was okay. She took the moment to look over her visitor: tall and elegant, the way Summer wanted to be; dark eyes, skin, and hair, with a wide mouth and high forehead.

She made Summer think of Pepper Potts, that kind of ‘power woman’. “What’s your name? Let’s start with that.”
