“Did Reed finally get those teleporters working, then? He’s probably hiding them or some such nonsense,” Summer mused. It seemed like a fairly simple coordinates mixup, to be causing such a complicated amount of anxiety. “Well then, it’s simple. All you have to do is tell me where your ship is, and I’ll fly you back there myself.” She paused, smiling a little. “I hope you aren’t afraid of heights.”
“No, you don’t understand.” Uhura lifted her head, staring directly into the other woman’s gaze now. Tears welled in her eyes as she shook her head. “I am from stardate 2260. I am almost 250 years ahead of your time. You can’t just take me to my ship,” she said with a painful inhale.
She sat back on her heels, startled. “Time travel. Well, shit. You’re right, that one I can’t fix on my own. My boyfriends might be able to help you, though. Tony’s — well, Tony’s a genius. And Loki is from Asgard. There’s a lot of knowledge there we don’t yet have.” She offered her hand to Uhura. “It’ll be okay. Trust me.”
