“The plan wasn’t entirely my own. Had I not been rushed and forced to act accordingly, I could have taken all those Avengers down.” The trickster’s face turned into a slight scowl, once again facing his back to her. “One would believe I should be thinking about my actions, but why should I? It won’t change what happened, plus, wouldn’t it just screw up this mind of mine. I don’t plan on risking that.”
“If you wanted to win, you should have opened the portal wider.” She shrugged. “It almost looked like you wanted to fail.” Her mouth twitched, hiding another smile. “The Avengers weren’t the only ones there. You know. I don’t think you could have stopped all of us.”
“I wasn’t trying to fail.” Was he kidding himself? He honestly wasn’t really trying. Not at first. Was it all his plan? Was it? Now he was racking his brain for the answer. Loki turned away from Summer, letting his mind process everything. “I realize it was more than the Avengers that were there. I’ll take a guess. You were there, were you not?”
“Oh, of course. I gave you that one.” Summer quit hiding the smile, grinning openly now. “Go on, keep guessing.”
