Vex let out a choked sound, not sure how to really respond to Summer’s words. They weren’t close, barely knew each other, and who in their right bloody mind would trust somebody in that regard when they’d only just met? Snickering slightly, he purred the words, “Never woulda expected to ‘ear that from a pretty thing like you.”
Summer sat straight up, locking her eyes on his. “No. No. That’s not okay.” She grabbed at his chin, firmly. “I’m not doing this with you if I have to force you to respect my few lines. I said I trusted you.”Vex’s eyes softened abruptly as Summer gripped his chin, her words registering to his mind almost instantly. Giving her a small smile, rather than smirking at her, he put one hand around her wrist to make her let go of his chin as he leaned forward and told her, “I’m jus’ actin’, Lovely. You’re safe ‘ere, I assure you.”
Sensing his honesty, she relaxed, letting go of him and closing her eyes. She took a deep breath, letting him have her wrist, letting that hold re-establish the mood. Then she swayed forward, body relaxed and pliable, and kissed him softly, turning it into a plea.
