I went to a panel at DragonCon where some poor attendee got up and said, “I’ve seen the movies and I’ve never read comics and I’d like to read some Avengers comics, where should I start?”
And the panelist Douchebro goes, “Ultimates.”
And a huge chunk of the audience goes “NO!” As one. We rose up. And smote that stupidity down with the rage of a thousand fangirls.
Oh. My God. I remember that. I remember that whole panel with fury, because holy shit they just did not want to let go of the whole “but the movies aren’t like the comics and THEY SHOULD BE.”
