Summer puts a bakery box on the bar at Carpe Noctem and smiles sweetly at the bartender. “Send for Vex.”

The bartender raised an eyebrow at the girl as she set a box on the counter of his bar. “You’re that Summer girl, right?” he asked absently, and then nodded as he stepped away to find his employer. Several minutes later, he returned, “Vex’ll be out momentarily.”

And several moments later, the Mesmer appeared, walking over to where Summer stood at the bar. He was dressed in his finest. “‘Ello, Precious,” he greeted, “Ya called?”

Vex smiled, enjoying this side of Summer. “Alright, alright, love,” he agreed, kissing her neck and leaving an absent bite against the skin, “M’love you,” he said again, kissing over the bite-mark as his arms tightened around her, protectively possessive.

“Mmm, I know,” she murmured back, arching against him a little. “Do you want sweets now, or spice?” They could go back to simply being curled together like two lazy cats, but somehow she didn’t quite think that was going to happen. Not if he kept on kissing her neck right there, which he knew perfectly well would make her wild.

The Mesmer laughed softly, hot breath brushing over Summer’s throat as he nuzzled her. “Hmm, up to you, I’m ‘onestly just glad you’re ‘ere to begin with,” he told her sincerely, smiling against her skin.

“Such flattery,” she teased, though her voice jittered. “Keep that up and it will be spices for sure, and here I was thinking maybe we should have some cake first.” Summer lowered her voice a little. “To keep our strength up.”
