“No, nononono, I’m not a stalker.” She was horrified, putting her hands out in front of her frantically. His smile turned her insides to mush. “I, uh, I, um, you just — ” she trailed off in stutters.

“Aww, I was only joking.” He couldn’t help but laugh at how adorable she had looked.

“It’s after eight pm. What kind of hours does a prince charming have?” She ignored the question; she didn’t want him to know how much her heart had jumped. The anger she’d felt at herself for coming out here at all was rapidly spilling over toward him.

Isaac could smell her anger but ignored it. “Hmm being prince charming is working at Walmart, 24/7,” he joked. ”Also I like being out late. The night sky, stars, and moon are just beautiful.” He looked up to them and noticed how the moon was close to being a full one. ”So what is a princess like you doing out of her castle so late?” he smirked at her.

She made a small sound of annoyance in her throat, and pressed her lips together. “I just … I got frustrated. With what you said. It just sounded like — you don’t even know me and already you want me to be different. Just like everyone else. So I needed to get out.” She left out the part where she’d basically come here to find him, lying to herself all the way about it.
