“We’re not strangers anymore!” That objection was strong enough that she moved to look him in the eyes, frowning. “We’re friends. We know lots about each other. But fine. Tell me one of your ‘terrible’ secrets and I will tell you one of mine.”
“Okay, so we’re not strangers anymore, but we’re not best friends either,” he stated with a shrug, casting her an encouraging smile which faltered at her request. “I…I had a brother, Camden, but he died when I was younger.”
“That’s not very terrible. Why would that be a terrible /secret/? It’s a terrible /thing/, but … ” Summer put her head to one side, bracing her hands on his chest.
