He sighed. “I like you.”
‘but?’
“I want to do this the right way.”
She gave him a very puzzled look, then sighed and went to get her chalkboard. ‘this is the wrong way?’
“No.”
‘I’m very confused. please just say it’. She hunched over the board, shoulders tense. ‘your emotions say one thing and your words another’.
“That’s because I’m afraid of how I feel.”
She frowned much more angrily than before, and erased several sentences before she showed him the board. ‘it’s okay for me to touch you but not for you to touch me. your words say stop but you kiss me back when I go away’.
