Summer glanced down, shyly, then back up at him, biting at her lip. She gave tiny little nods, watching him with wide eyes and hopeful eyebrows. “I — I don’t want you to feel rushed,” she said, words tumbling out of her mouth. “Or, or pressured or anything, you’re still in high school and I’m only in college and we’re not old enough but maybe, you know, in the future, if you still wanted to be with me … “
“I just…I’ve never planned that far ahead, I never imagined that…” His breath hitched, and his smile only widened further at her babbling, leaning in to kiss her sweetly on the lips. “I love you, Summer, and nothing would make me happier than spending our lives and futures together. I’ll always want to be with you, okay?”
Her return smile was brilliant, and she tugged him closer, kissing him back and then again, winding her arms around his neck. “When you propose to me you’ll have to do a better job,” she teased, cheeks pink.
