Summer picked up the last box under her little tree, sparkly Christmas green with a bow on top, and held it out to Isaac. There was no name on it. “Happy Christmas, love,” she said softly.
Isaac’s eyes widened and he was rendered speechless, not yet taking the present from her outstretched hand. He opened and closed his mouth a few times, before tilting his head to the side, not comprehending. “I…but I’ve not…it’s been so long…”
She drew back a little, frowning at him. “Y-you don’t want it?” Her hand started to tremble a little.
