“I love you too Summer.” He nuzzled the top of her head and smiled as the house lights dimmed. The music changed and after a brief introduction the show began. It always amazed Victor how graceful the performers were and he sat there transfixed, leaning closer to Summer.
She was enraptured, hands clasped together and eyes shining with the lost delight of a child’s wonder.
He was lost in the awe of Summer’s beautifully enraptured expression and in the movements and special effects of the performers. They glided and flew through the air with a natural ease that Victor found amazing. The entire act was perfectly visible from their seats and they enjoyed the full effect of the bursts of flame from the stage that silhouetted them nicely. Victor couldn’t help but watch with a certain technical appreciation for the show. After he had helped with so many shows he marked it as a tech crew miracle that everything seemed to be running smoothly.
The show lasted about an hour and a half and what almost seemed like too soon, the house lights came on. Victor turned to Summer, “Did you like the show dear? Have you ever seen them before?”
It took a long moment for her to come back from wherever she had gone in her rapture. “That … was amazing. That was so amazing! How did they /do/ that!?” She clutched Victor’s arm again, bouncing in her seat. “I’ve never seen them before. I think I want to again!”
