Is it just me, or did it just get hot in here?

“Johnny’s fine, you know.” He squeezed his eyes shut for a moment, grasping for her name in the deep, dark, jumbled recesses of his mind. Didn’t it have something to do with a season? Autumn? Pepper? No, that was seasoning . “You’re Summer, right?” Success. Sweet, sweet success. Mentally he patted himself on the back, actually knowing somebody’s name correctly, even if it was just a guess.

“That’s right,” she replied sweetly. “I didn’t realise you knew who I was, Johnny. Don’t you usually have other things on your mind when we run across each other?”

Johnny’s eyebrows shot up at what she was insinuating. Not saying she was wrong in her assumption, just that Johnny definitely did not see that coming. “My brain can multi-task.”

“Oh really?” she teased. “That’s not what I hear. You’ve always seemed pretty one track to me.” She laughed at the expression on his face. “Don’t change, Johnny. I quite like you as you are, one track mind and all.”

He gave a very genuine smile. “That’s very comforting, thank you.” Johnny considered what she said earlier. “Okay, yeah I’d say I’m a one track mind kind of guy, but really it’s more a craving for fun than anything else. I don’t care what it is, to an extent, as long as it’s fun.” Really, he hadn’t done much in the way of enjoyment anyways. “You don’t by any chance know anything fun to do, do you?”

“I know lots of fun things to do. You looking for something in particular?” Summer’s green eyes warmed. “You’re always looking for something in particular, though, is what I hear.” She winked. “Flying could be fun.”
