Isaac shrunk back, curling into a ball against the wall. He wasn’t entirely sure what was going on himself…. Fear and pain poisoned his body as he tried his best not to cry. After hearing a familiar voice he glanced up “No-he’ll hurt you! D-Don’t” It was no use, she was already stood between the scared wolf and this brute of a man. Isaac felt a tear escape down his cheek as the man grabbed the girl, tossing her to the floor in one, effortless motion.
She hit the ground hard, breath jolting out of her, and a hand clamped to her aching shoulder. It took her a moment to struggle to her feet, but it’s amazing how much energy rage can give you. It felt like her skin was burning, and her muscles were so tense it hurt. “I said,” she grated, “don’t /touch/ him.” There’s a trick she used to be able to do, in high school, becoming dead weight, grounding herself so firmly to the earth even burly football players couldn’t move her.
