“Don’t be, this’ll be lots of fun for us, not everyday one goes exploring.”
“Yes, very much, me and my sun. Already I’m sure I’m fading away. Come!”
“The sun isn’t going anywhere today,” he laughed, quickly following after her.
“A day only lasts but so long,” Summer shouted back, picking up her skirts so she could go down the stairs more swiftly. She burst out into the courtyard, face up into the sun, and stopped.
Arthur chucked, walking in a fast pace to catch up to Summer, swiftly making it down the steps and out to the courtyard. He had to stop suddenly when he saw Summer stopped and stood beside her. “Soaking up the sun?”
“Absolutely.” She turned swiftly, gave him a brilliant smile, and was off again, darting over to the stables, bright hair flaring out behind her. Without waiting for help, she swung up into the saddle.
“Don’t be, this’ll be lots of fun for us, not everyday one goes exploring.”

Mordred grunts, his eyes fluttering open after a few seconds and he smiles. “Good morning” he mutters, moving into a sitting position “you didn’t have to.”
“Well, I did tell you you’re not to go armoured to dinner.” Innocently, she looks up at him. “I only thought I might help you undress.”
“Didn’t realize that I had forgotten how to undress myself,” he teases, a smile gracing his lips. “Of course you can.”
Summer helps him out of the chainmail, pausing afterward to run her fingers over his chest. “You are so handsome,” she murmurs.
Mordred grunts, his eyes fluttering open after a few seconds and he smiles. “Good morning” he mutters, moving into a sitting position “you didn’t have to.”
“That,” Summer says, trying to get him to walk backward to the bed, “is a very good question, cariad.”
Mordred chuckled heading towards the bed with her. “Something tells me you have no intention of sleeping.”
“Well, I did tell you you’re not to go armoured to dinner.” Innocently, she looks up at him. “I only thought I might help you undress.”
Mordred grunts, his eyes fluttering open after a few seconds and he smiles. “Good morning” he mutters, moving into a sitting position “you didn’t have to.”
“Mmmm. On our picnic, I think.” She tugs on his hair again. “You shall not escape.”
“Now, why on earth would I want to?”
“That,” Summer says, trying to get him to walk backward to the bed, “is a very good question, cariad.”
Mordred grunts, his eyes fluttering open after a few seconds and he smiles. “Good morning” he mutters, moving into a sitting position “you didn’t have to.”
“As I recall, you said once to me that mere kisses alone would not bring you to surrender. Neither I,” she says, and then spoils her resistance by kissing him again more deeply.
Mordred chuckles, “and when did I say that?”
“Mmmm. On our picnic, I think.” She tugs on his hair again. “You shall not escape.”
“Don’t be, this’ll be lots of fun for us, not everyday one goes exploring.”
“So long as you’re prepared to take him on. I’m not minded to be some false knight’s prisoner until some stronger knight defeats him and takes me captive instead.”
“I have no issues with doing that. Like I said, I don’t mind a good challenge. I wouldn’t let any harm come to you and we’ll gain safe passage.”
“So gallant!” she teased. “I feel safer already.” Swinging on the doorhandle, she bent a merry gaze on him. “So, then, let’s go. The sunlight is calling me!”
“Well I do try to be a noble knight, seeing as I am one. So long as there’s just the one, we’ll all be fine.” He joked and chuckled, shaking his head. “You and your sun.”
“Yes, very much, me and my sun. Already I’m sure I’m fading away. Come!”
Mordred grunts, his eyes fluttering open after a few seconds and he smiles. “Good morning” he mutters, moving into a sitting position “you didn’t have to.”
Summer loops her arms around his neck, smiling through the kiss. “This is a good start,” she says. She tangles her fingers into his curls, tugging and combing and petting, and sways against him.
He chuckles slightly, wrapping his arms around her waist. “A good start?”
“As I recall, you said once to me that mere kisses alone would not bring you to surrender. Neither I,” she says, and then spoils her resistance by kissing him again more deeply.
“Oh, for that my brother is an idiot, and for that I love you, and for that I don’t wish to watch the two of you beat each other bloody over a thing I alone should choose … but are you not supposed to be answering the question honestly? Turning it aside with another question is not honestly, Medraut.”
