A girl who thinks she’s normal discovers she’s actually part of a secret world hidden from humans in which there is a great war going on, falls in love with someone she’s told is her brother, finds out her father is the greatest betrayer the secret world has ever known, and that she has amazing powers no one else has. It’s three books’ worth of ‘oh that thing we told you in the last book/section/chapter/paragraph? it’s not true, the adults were lying to protect/manipulate you’ with teenage romance angst on top.
And the dialogue is clunky.
