“Aww, I was only joking.” He couldn’t help but laugh at how adorable she had looked.
Isaac got to practice late and coach griped at him and told him he had to stay after and help out. Isaac sighed and began to change out. A couple of hours passed and practice had finally been over and Isaac had finished his cleaning he finally got to shower and change. Isaac stripped off all his clothes and took a shower. Once he finished showering he came back and started changing into his clothes.
It would have felt strange to go watch the lacrosse practice after encountering Isaac, Summer felt. She made herself go home and do her reading, eat, take a bath. She kept checking her phone, looking at the time, jittering. Finally, after hours, and staring at the page of the book she was reading without actually reading any of the words long enough for the ereader to go to screensaver mode, she picked up her phone and texted him.
[text to: Isaac Lahey] sorry I’m such an idiot
After Isaac had finished changing he felt something vibrate in his pocket. Isaac had ignored it at the moment but he made a note to reply to it once he got home. He headed out the doors of the school and ran home. Once he got inside he grabbed his phone out of his pocket and turned on his phone. Once he saw it he smiled and laughed a little. He replied to the text instantly.
[text to: Unknown ID] Pft, thats a bunch of bull. You’re not an idiot, well at least you don’t seem like one.
Summer couldn’t help smiling at the phone like an idiot when he finally replied. Nerves had danced in her middle while she waited, all too familiar. She had to keep reminding herself that he could be busy with anything, driving or showering — the distracting thought of him showering was good for a couple minutes.
[text to: Isaac Lahey] oh good I was afraid I would have to apply for the job as the village idiot [text to: Isaac Lahey] how was practise?
“Aww, I was only joking.” He couldn’t help but laugh at how adorable she had looked.
With an effort of will Summer made her heart slow. He was sincerely concerned; she of all people knew that. “I’m fine now that you’re here,” she said, trying to flirt. Maybe if she said the right things she could make this better.
Isaac felt better and removed his hands when her heart rate slowed. He couldn’t help but chuckle at her flirting. “Well I’m glad I could help my dear princess,” he joked. Isaac looked at his watch and sighed, “I’m afraid that our time together has ran out, for I have to go to lacrosse practice. But if thou would like to meet again just give me a call.” he continued to joke while he had given her his phone number and then ran off quickly to get to practice on time.
His calling her ‘princess’ made her blush again. She stood slightly dumbfounded as he all but pressed his number on her, clutching her phone to her chest as he ran off. “But I watch your practices,” she said, forlornly, to no one in particular as he rounded a corner. But now she had his number — she resolved to teach him the correct use of ‘thou’ and ‘thee’ as soon as there was a chance.

“You sure?” Isaac heard her heart rate up pick up and he twitched. He stepped closer to her.
He moved closer and that just made it worse. Now her racing heart wasn’t from lies or embarrassment but simply from how close he was. It was like being something’s prey. How was she even supposed to answer?
I’m not fine, because you’re right there and I want to touch you so badly it scares me? I’m not fine because every time you smile my heart turns over? I’m not fine, because even though I’m older than you I’m sure you see me as a silly child?
Isaac stepped back while holding his ears when he heard her heart rate pick up instantly and loudly. His eyes shining as he held his ears. “Gahh, jesus damn.. fly.” he tried pretending it was just a fly.

She turned even redder, twisting her hands together.
He stopped laughing and looked at her seriously this time “Whoah, you okay there?”
“I, I’m fine,” she lied. Only he laughed at her, her shyness and stutters.
