Summer opens her mouth to argue, and Helios steps firmly on her foot. She looks down and scoops the fluffy cat up, who puts his paws around her neck and begins to purr. She makes a face at him, but gives over the argument before it begins, instead asking, “Isaac? How did you /find/ me?”
“Cat,” Isaac says simply, jerking his head in the cat’s general direction. Giving play by plays was ridiculous, there were more important things to do. Like focusing on a concussion or addressing the fact that she was ice cold only a moment ago. Nonetheless…
“It’s um, sort of a stalker. Led me to you.”
“He’s not a stalker,” she coos to the cat. “He’s a very smart fluffy man, yes he is. Also a very sneaky kitty.” She shakes her finger at Helios. “You really don’t have to take me home. I’ll be fine.” Helios bites the finger. “Hey! Bad! No.”

She takes a deep breath, waiting to see if the dizziness comes back. It doesn’t, so she ventures a step. Still fine. Feeling confused and a little grumpy, she lets the next step take her right into Isaac’s personal space, then looks up at him. “I’m sorry for the trouble,” she repeats, and turns away.
“I’m sure I’ll be fine on my own.” She snaps her fingers for the cat again.
“Just gotta get you home, and we’ll be fine.” When she leans in he cranes his neck, taking another half step back.
Once she turns he follows, making a bee line for the door before unlocking the bolt and stepping aside. “After you.”

“People do faint, you know,” she shoots back. His grip seems to tighten. There’s something under there, something behind the sarcasm. What is it? She doesn’t really mean to, but she reaches out and touches his chest. “What are you?” Her thoughts keep bypassing the brain-to-mouth filter.
When she presses her hand to he he steps back, trying to keep his expression calm, “ever heard of personal space?”
Out of all things he had to deal with some nights, not only does he get a weird girl girl who should still be unconscious, but someone who could potentially figure out just what he is. “Let’s just get you back to where you came from.”
