“Aww, I was only joking.” He couldn’t help but laugh at how adorable she had looked.
She turned even redder, twisting her hands together.
He stopped laughing and looked at her seriously this time “Whoah, you okay there?”
“I, I’m fine,” she lied. Only he laughed at her, her shyness and stutters.
“You sure?” Isaac heard her heart rate up pick up and he twitched. He stepped closer to her.
He moved closer and that just made it worse. Now her racing heart wasn’t from lies or embarrassment but simply from how close he was. It was like being something’s prey. How was she even supposed to answer?
I’m not fine, because you’re right there and I want to touch you so badly it scares me? I’m not fine because every time you smile my heart turns over? I’m not fine, because even though I’m older than you I’m sure you see me as a silly child?
